I read up on the Cape May area. It has so much history ... especially the fact that it is the first recreational beach in the country, and a favorite spot for early travelers from Europe and Africa, since they could get out of the ocean easily. It was just another tourist town - sadly - with lots of shops and food. The beach was OK, but we've seen a lot of nice beaches (hello, Florida?) We hung out with a few other loopers here, since it was such a cozy marina, with no where to go really.

The next morning we made the decision, after reading up on every app we have, that we would head out. The seas were 2-3 ft and the swells only 4 ft or so. They were coming every 9 seconds, so once we got out into the ocean it was just a nice rolling ride. The inlets are really confused and wild, but a few miles out it calms a bit. We questioned our choice a few times, but overall it was a good call.

The marina was directly behind the Golden Nugget Casino. I've included a couple of pictures of the area. We went with Chris and Donna from Runaway to the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, and walked the whole length. The wind howled, but hey..... we weren't on the water, so its all good!

Here is a picture, bad though it may be, of some dolphins that accompanied us up to Atlantic City. They're hard rascals to catch in pictures!

Later that evening we went to dinner at the casino with Chris and Lesley, and Lesley's brother. He was in town visiting. It was an amazing steakhouse. Excellent service, food, and of course priced accordingly. Not like you would expect a casino to be. $500 for the 5 of us is tolerable, but then Lesley's brother picked up the tab! Not expected, and we sure tried to pay him back, but wow..... thanks!
