What a nice lock this was. Clean, and quiet, and beautiful. We locked through first thing this morning.

We headed out into the canal on the way to Lake Simcoe. Lake Simcoe is the biggest lake we go through before we get to Georgian Bay. Not sure what to compare it to, but its big. This canal though..... I've actually seen irrigation ditches bigger. This is what we went through for half the day. We could have passed a boat, but it would have been dangerous.

Here is beautiful Lake Simcoe. We've gone through the Talbot Lock, the Gamebridge Lock, and the Lakeshore Swing Bridge, and now we pass a sign that warns of dangerous weather on the lake. Ugh. It looks beautiful to us, so on we go.

We made it across Lake Simcoe to the Port of Orillia. Bridge Port Marina is our intended marina. They only had next to the fuel dock left, so we took it. We could have had a slip if we had gone around to the town, but we got fuel here, so just stayed. It was convenient. The best part of the marina is this family of Swans that lived there. They are Mute Swans, and there is a whole family. Mom (or Dad) takes them out across the water for lessons of some sort, then back to the safety of the reeds. Pretty amazing. They are beautiful.

Here is the sunset on the first night there. We stayed for 2 nights. I really wanted to go and get some groceries, so we planned for the next day. We took the dinghy which was a hoot, and tied up..... got groceries...... and ate some lunch

These beautiful sailing ships are all along the boardwalk to town. This is my favorite.

We plan to anchor out tonight, so we'll see where we end up!
