What a beautiful, historic, charming and walkable city this is. I Googled a great walking tour, which turned up a really nice one. About 10 minutes in we ran across the Reconstruction State Park and the ranger was a storehouse of local history.

I wont bore you with the details, but it was cool. 2nd oldest town in SC. Seat of the secessionist movement in this country. 😒 Settled in 1600s, became a city in 1711 (a British city) and when the revolution happened, this city had the largest number of British loyalists that remained, in the country. So much history.....

We found a fun tavern to grab a burger and beer. They played 80s pop so, in addition to (nearly) dancing way through lunch, I continually remembered that I danced to these songs with two little kids 🥰🤣 Aahh...good times 😎

We're off to Charleston at daybreak. The harbor there recommended that we arrive at slack tide because of the fierce current. The backwards math means no hanging on the deck having coffee.....bleh. Oh well... If we're going to arrive by 5 we need to leave early.

Enjoy the pictures. I will label them in the album, but cant here.
