Seriously? $35 for electricity for a night? I book a lot of docks, and the typical charge is $5 bucks. Maybe $8. I would grumble over $10. When I looked at that, I said 'are you serious?" He said, yeah, it seems high, but that's what we charge. SMH

I was really excited for Beaufort, but not sure why. I guess because it seems like a historic area. There were a few museums about the area. We did check them out. There is a boat specifically for this area, because it can run in only a foot of water. Its called a North Carolina Shad boat. In addition, this area is the beginning of the outer banks, and the pirate area. Slavery is now a southern thing. We are officially north. Reminds me of going into a parts store in South Carolina (southern SoCarolina) and having the clerk holler across the store at me "you a northerner?" I said, 'no, I'm mountain folk'....why? He said - It's February and you're wearing shorts. I said, It's 70 degrees out. He said, yeah, wintertime. Apparently I am a northerner. lol

We enjoyed an early dinner/late lunch at the dockside restaurant, walked around town for a while, had an ice cream at the local ice cream shop, enjoyed the maritime museum, then retired to the boat. We couldn't come up with a reason to stay for another day, so planned to leave after just one day.

Next stop - New Bern. We have been sending some boat parts, and Crystal has sent our past few months of house mail there. In addition to getting to hang out with Dave and Barb - friends from home - this is the area that Outlander is set in in this country. So excited!
