Our time at Cortlandt was awesome. Time to move on though, and I chose to go as far as Shadows in Poughkeepsie. It is a marina right on the Hudson, and there was no way to avoid the wakes from passing boats and barges, but it was the correct distance to go that day. We decided we'd be OK. Keith, the dockmaster, was a great guy and shared his storehouse of information about the upcoming locks, and Erie Canal. I don't know how we will remember it all! I can only hope that it comes back bit by bit, as we go.

We went in to the nearby restaurant for dinner. It was expensive, but really good. I snapped a picture of us as we were leaving. We were both pretty blinded.
