I was looking forward to this stop. It was advertised as a safe quiet stop a long the way, with anything you need accessible. It was. I chose Harborwalk Marina, because it was literally in the middle of town with a Harborwalk in front. Sweet! 😎 We planned to arrive by 3, with a nice 4 hr cruise to get there. The tides in SC, mostly 2 to 4 ft, pale in comparison to GAs 7 to 10 foot tides. We look at the charts, but I dont know why 🤔

The winds were moderate the current was OK and the sky was clearish. It looked like rain at any moment, but we mostly missed it. Just before arriving in Georgetown it got pretty blustery, but cleared off before we docked. We were joined by a couple dozen dolphins, apparently at the confluence of a few rivers on the way in. I really tried to get their pictures but they are quick, so didnt get any.

We spent the next day touring there local museums, and then having lunch. We went to the Rice Museum, which is really all about the crop that made SC. Who knew? 🤔 I thought cotton, or some such thing. It was fascinating, but not well thought through. The next museum called itself the Georgetown Maritime Museum. It should have been called the Slavery Museum. I wont go into details here, but included a bunch of pictures. There were so many "wow... I had no idea" moments. I still haven't wrapped my brain around my feelings on the things we saw. More to come on that.

After the museums we got to have lunch with Wendy and Randy Orr. Friends from Woodland Park that have moved to Johnsonville, which is an hour down the road from here. We had a wonderful time visiting and sharing a few adult beverages. I am so glad they made the trip! It was a really good day.

Next morning we fueled up and left around 10 on the way to Wacca Wache Marina. 😁 Clear sailing.....
