It was another perfect day of travel on the Chesapeake Bay. It still sort of shocks me how shallow most of the water here is, and if you aren't in the channel it can be dangerous, - today was no exception. We were a bit outside of the channel, in 5 ft of water (which honestly now isn't even a cause for alarm) with a 40 ft channel next to us for the big ships that come through. Rather than move over for them, we just give them the channel since we can be a bit outside.

The real estate around us is still amazing. I check everywhere we go, and the prices are typically in the 400-500 area. This is no exception. Annapolis was a little higher, and Deltaville a little lower, but overall, a half a million will buy you something nice.

We chose Havre de Grace because it looked a bit bigger, and we needed water, and a grocery run (Instacart). As we were traveling there, we went through a marked area on the map called 'Aberdeen Proving Ground'. Curious, I had to check. Apparently it's now sort of a superfund site, with lots of old chemicals and stuff polluting the waters. Ugh. Its why there are no dolphins up this far. I had to google that too. There are dolphins at the mouth of the Chesapeake, but not further up. Ugh. So much for getting water in Havre de Grace! haha.

It was a beautiful little historic town, and a beautiful little marina. We had a great dinner at Coakleys Irish Pub, and an ice cream at the local shop, and still met the Instacart shopper at the parking lot. Jeff and Pam, on At Last II were at our marina, and Chris and Lesley on Lesleys Idea were next door. They finally caught up after being stuck in Norfolk for a week while we were stuck in Deltaville. Its nice to have folks to travel near .... if not with.

We only stayed for a night, then took off for the Chesapeake and Delaware canal.
