We woke early today. The anchor pulling loose is a thing that will wake you pretty quickly. I stay up late and keep watch, and George is up at daybreak and keeps watch, but it just never gets to be fun. We are searching for an anchor that we can depend on, because ours fails us too often. This is where we anchored. Beautiful spot.

....and here is the screenshot of the navigation app that I left on during the night, so we could see where we went. I find it fascinating. Anchor held fine, we just went in a nice circle.

Oh well, it's no big deal, because the crusher plant behind us starts early, so the quiet ended. This is the crusher that started up at 7:30 in the morning.

We ate breakfast and headed out for Sault Ste Marie early. It was to be a long day, and I couldn't find a terrific place to split the trip up with, so we went for it. We still made it by 5, so its fine. It was a beautiful trip, covering the St Joseph Channel, Lake George, the St Mary's River, and so much beautiful property.

Lake George was amazing. It was pretty shallow, but I don't know if that is what caused the glassiness. It was eerie. Here are a couple pictures of it. More in the photo gallery.

We got to Sault Ste Marie right on time. The river current was strong, so our mileage is horrible. The sides of the river were fascinating. Right side is Canada. Left side is USA. No walls. No fences. No division. It was awesome. Sault Ste Marie is still in Canada, but USA is across the river, so we will check in there.

The marina is small, but has a great BBQ restaurant next door. Ribs were a great dinner.

Tomorrow? Make the decision on whether to go to Whitefish Point on Lake Superior.
