....and just like that, we are through 6 locks.

We left Trent in ugly gloomy weather, but according to our charts, the weather would clear. First stop - leave $650 for diesel fuel. Ugh.

It is so cool of them to have this amazing sign on the bridge. I remember when the kids and I drove up to Alaska, when we got to Mile Zero of the Al-Can Highway, there was a sign like this that we took picture in front of. Yeah, its a big thing ...... to me anyway.

Here we come to Lock #1 on the Trent Severn Waterway. I won't put all the pictures here, but make sure you go to the photo album section and look. They are so different, and yet pretty much the same. Different heights, and widths, but same principal. We cruised up to this lock, radioed that we wanted to lock through, then they called us forward. They asked if we had permits, which we didn't, so they would stop the lock at the top so we could give them our big box of money to get through. lol

This is the only time you are allowed to tie your boat up in a lock, and you can never leave your boat. This time is special, because we need to walk around to buy the passes. Here is out boat in a lock! the other picture is looking down from the top of the lock.

I wanted to share this picture, because it looks like so many of the locks that we went through. They are peaceful, and serene. Winding little trails of water with bridges and sidewalks that are typically filled with people walking. The blue line is what we head for when we get to the lock, unless they are ready for us to head right in, which is rare. This picture doesn't show the blue line painted on the curb, because we are tied up to it.

Here we are at the Frankford Lock wall - Lock #6. We had planned to go to Lock 7 today, but when we got to this lock, the lockmaster said 'are you sure you want to go there? We have power here". Sold. It is a beautiful place, and the grounds and water are calm and deep. Also, we ran into Louis and Isabel again. They mentioned that they were staying here for a couple of days, to go to the dentist and play some golf. He found a dentist that took walk-ins, so he could get his crown glued back on. George heard that and was on the phone making an appointment. It was pretty awesome. He got in with an hours notice, they took x-rays, glued it back on, $39 to glue it on and x-ray, and $150 for the emergency call. Seems like a deal to me.

Next stop from here? Campbellford. We weren't going that far yesterday, but that is today's stop.
