It was a beautiful day for traveling when we left Picton. The breeze made it really nice, and the water was calm. There are houses lining the water everywhere we go now. I know it must get really cold in the winter, but right now I envy them.

Here we are traveling up the Trent River towards the Port of Trent. Right behind us (right through Picton) is a canal leading to Lake Ontario. It isn't but a few miles, so Trent is the Port of Entry into Canada for that canal. We went through Customs and Immigration in Ganonoque, so no need here.

I wanted to take a picture of this bridge on the Trent River, that has a small island right in the middle of the channel. We boat to one side of the bridge, so no issue, but I thought it was pretty cool.

Here we are at the Trent Port Marina. It is a beautiful place. So well manicured. Inside there is a boaters lounge and several separate bathrooms in the bath house for the boaters. A cute, though not very well stocked, store is there too. It's right next door to a Metro Grocery store, and a short walk to town, which is always a perk!

There is a Farmers Market in Trent on Saturdays, so we stayed an additional day just to go. Found these cool angel wings on the walk. I bought my pansy here too. It's a 'Brush Stroke Pansy'. I've never seen one like it before, but it is our boat flower now.

We tried to stop for lunch at a highly reviewed Irish Pub, but it turns out that - in addition to not having an English speaking waitress, they also don't have food..... hahahahahaha. We walked down to Captain George's Fish and Chips and weren't disappointed at all. Later that evening, we caught a glimpse of this mess coming far down the river. We had binoculars trained on it for a while, trying to figure out what the heck it is. When it got closer, we realized it is a tiny home, on floats, pulling jet skis, being pulled by a grossly underpowered poor little fishing boat. You would hear the boat rev up his motors and yank, then the house would start floating, then he would yank side to side to keep it going. It took hours, but they finally drug it to our marina where I guess it will be some sort of floating office. Not sure, but it was quite entertaining for a while.

Here is the marina, looking out from the Boaters Lounge. We are on the far left, near the building with the blue metal roof. Notice the abundance of weeds in the water. Apparently, they aren't allowed to clean that out until the first of July, because ducks and geese eat it. Nice of them. but all the weeds are gross.

Sunset on the walk back from the grocery store.

Next stop is our first lock in the morning! Wahoo! We have dreamed about this waterway for years.
