Leaving the York River Yacht Club was tough. It was so pretty, and so protected, and so convenient. We thought about staying longer, but had to move on. I selected a marina based on the location, since another 'blow' was expected, and we didn't want to go too far off of our route, and partly based on convenience, and then there's always price. I thought I scored with this one, but a couple of factors weren't considered. Honestly, they can't be, since my review is limited to people's opinions and what it looks like from Google maps. Not much help there.

It was a beautiful trip from the York River, up the Chesapeake Bay to the Deltaville area. It was just starting to blow when we got there, but Costa and a neighbor were there to grab lines. We got tied up to their fixed dock before it got bad, so all is good. A couple of our boat friends were there, Leave it to Wally, with Devon and Dolly, and You'N Me with Bruce and Cheryl were tied nearby. Everybody stayed to themselves that evening, because of the weather. The next day we decided we would explore a bit. Costa said we could use his loaner car (see picture) when we needed it. We decided to walk to the Post Office to mail some stuff, and to the local restaurant for lunch. Turns out 2 miles it my imaginary limit before I say 'this is stupid' and wish I could get a ride. Bruce and Cheryl had taken the car to the store, so we had lunch with them and they gave it rides back. Yay. The next day we made a plan to go to dinner at the local Raw Bar. See the picture of how we rode with Devon and Dolly back from the restaurant. hahahahahaha

Need a hint? This is actually a street sign. It's Horseshoe Bend street... lol

It was a fun stop, partly because Costa was awesome. He had inherited the place from his folks, and it needed a ton of work that he doesn't have the time or ability to get done. Sort of felt sorry for him, because there was SO.....MUCH.....WORK to be done. Check out the pictures. George said its where boats go to die. One boat was going to be stripped and destroyed, and I got pictures of them towing it away. Honestly, the monthly slip rent must be so cheap that its easier to let them sit on the bottom than it is to pull them out and get rid of them. The water lines all need to be re-done, so we couldn't drink the water. Costa even suggested that we not let it sit on the boat, since the iron level is so high it will stain the boat.

It was a great stop because of the company.
